| I have been practicing plastic reconstructive surgery since 1973 after I completed my residency training at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington D.C. At the King Hussein Medical Center, I initiated a two years residency program in plastic surgery which accepted candidates who had already completed four years of training in General Surgery and had been certified by the Royal College of Surgeons or other national boards. Since 1973 this program has graduated 25 qualified plastic surgeons. We were the first in the Arab World to introduce Microsurgical techniques and our teams have performed over 600 replantations of amputated limbs and microsurgical free flaps in reconstructive surgery. We operated on over 3000 children with birth defects like cleft lips & palate, hypospadias. We established the first specially designed Burn Unit that has treated hundreds of serious cases. I first introduced lasers into the practice of aesthetic surgery in Jordan. For the past ten years, 90% of my practice has been limited to aesthetic surgery, with special interest in the following procedures: |
